The 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup wrapped up this weekend, with the Portland Thorns defeating NJ/NY Gotham FC on penalties. While OL Reign missed out on the championship title, the team earned seven points in four games and saw five different players score goals.
Now, the players have their eyes clearly set on the next phase: a 24-game regular season that kicks off this Saturday with a home match at Cheney Stadium. That match against the North Carolina Courage begins at 7 PM PT and will stream exclusively on Twitch.

The news much speculated on and wished for in the NWSL is now official German international midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsán and French international goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi are finally coming to the league. OL Reign announced today that the midfielder and goalkeeper will be joining the club in early June, on loan for the remainder of the 2021 NWSL season.
When OL Groupe acquired the Reign in December 2019, it seemed inevitable that talent from Olympique Lyonnais would come to the Pacific Northwest. Today’s announcement marks the first time that such a move has occurred, and it took a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make it happen.

With two days to go before their first game of the year, OL Reign debuted their 2021 kits tonight at a special online event for season-ticket members. Christened “Hope” and “Gratitude”, the two new kits feature Black Future Co-op Fund on the front. The Fund is Washington’s first all Black-led philanthropy, created to ignite Black generational wealth, health, and well-being. In 2020, OL Reign played for and raised funds on behalf of them during the NWSL Fall Series.
