this article confirming the ongoing criminal investigation of the former DuPage Township Supervisor Bill Mayer. In that article we noted that the Village of Bolingbrook had not complied with our FOIA request.
This morning the City of Bolingbrook responded. Within the denial for records was one of the key exemptions we had hoped to confirm when we asked for the records. 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(d)(i). Records are exempt because there is a pending law enforcement proceeding.
So now we have two independent confirmations there is in fact an ongoing law enforcement investigation into Bill Mayer, contrary to what DuPage Township Trustees Burgess and Oliver are telling people.
