Paula Jones, current principal at Henry Wilson Elementary School, has been selected as the next principal of McLaughlin Middle School, replacing Bill Krantz, who is retiring at the end of
Robin Hugh Krantz, age 69, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 3, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born March 4, 1952, in Flora, the son of James and Pearl (Manning) Krantz. He married Frances D. Williams on November 13, 1978, in Rinard. He and Francie have shared all of life's events and special occasions together including 42 wedding anniversaries. Rob worked in the oil field, as a farmhand, and bred paint and quarter horses. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a founding member of the Flatlanders Motorcycle Club. He also served in the US Army. Rob worked harder than the next guy and played harder than the next ten guys. He was a man of few words. He listened more than he talked, but when he did speak it was something you wanted to listen to. He loved motorcycles, arrowheads, rock-and-roll music, horses, his John Deere 4020 tractor, shade trees, old westerns, and family. He was not a complicated man, but defini
