Chaffee County Sheriffâs Office Emergency Communications Centerâs office is celebrating Public Safety Telecommunicators week April 11 through 17.Â
Communications specialists answer all 911 calls and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services in Chaffee County.
Together they represent 180 years of emergency communications experience and this is just with Chaffee County.Â
The most tenured employee has 39 years and the newest employee has one week on the job.
Three of the employees worked for other emergency communications centers before being employed by Chaffee County and several came from other areas of emergency service.Â
The emergency communications center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.Â

EMMETSBURG – Ag Property Solutions, LLC (APS), an industry leader in providing customers with innovative and customized solutions related to the planning, design, construction and outfitting of livestock production facilities, has announced it has invested in a majority interest of Evans, Colorado-based Dairy Specialists, LLC.
Details regarding the purchase price were not disclosed.
Dairy Specialists will continue to operate and service customers under the same name. Randy Sorensen, the founder and current owner of Dairy Specialists, will remain with the company as chairman while also remaining a partner in the business along with several other key personnel.
Brian Stork, chief operating officer for APS, will assume the same role for Dairy Specialists and be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for both companies.
