smoke and mirror. bait and switch. this is all gimmicks. everybody agrees you ve got to reform health care. but what s the gimmick? it s not going to cost you any extra money. all of these extra people are going to be insured. what it means, for ten years we re going to be paying in. who s going to pay in? you and me. tax increases and maryland i cade and reimbursements are going to be cut. for ten years you re collecting money. $1 a year. you bet. and the metaphor you re only spending six years worth. you re collecting money for ten years. and then you re paying it out over six. well, of course you re going to be saving money. you re not saving money. because what you re doing is collecting for ten, giving back for six. anybody can understand that. this is raw ezra, i want i want to jump in here. this is wrong. it should be clear we re going with the real numbers here. the bill accelerates savings as it goes on. what you can say is they tax us too much, saves too

there are deadlines squeezing our congress. first off, march 18th. that s the one the white house says they want to have the senate bill passed to clear the house by next week. that would be fast. how democrats say they re focusing more on march 26th, when lawmakers will leave town for an easter break. the president had wanted a bill through the house and senate on his desk for signature by that date. you might want to toss both of them, though. there is another much less publicized date, april 15th, tax day. that could be the actual deadline for this legislation. the 15th is the statutory deadline for congress to pass a 2001 budget resolution. remember, this bill is being passed as part of the budget process. if the bill is not passed as part of the budget process by that day, and congress has not exercised its authority to use reconciliation for health care reform, they may well lose it. the biggest ticking time bomb, of course, americans patience for the partisan sparring and the l
