The New Brunswick government is moving to protect private property owners from a land claim by the Wolastoqey Nation that seeks title to more than 60 per cent of the province.
More than 20 volunteers in Bilijk, formerly known as Kingsclear First Nation, worked in the hot sun this week to put up two new greenhouses and build outdoor garden beds as part of a project to increase the local supply of nutritious food.
New to her role as an environmental technician in Bilijk First Nation, formerly Kingsclear, Summer Saulis wants to see her ancestors reflected in the field of environmental conservation. She is now graduating from a program that aims to do exactly that.
