The Uttar Pradesh forest department is set to develop the first 'tourism village' near Amangarh Tiger Reserve (ATR) in Bijnor's Devanandpur. The village will be transformed in view of increasing footfall of tourists visiting the reserve. This would also give a boost to the local economy with new jobs.
Bandipur Tiger Reserve (BTR), one of the best-maintained tiger reserves in the country, will soon have a state-of-the-art interpretation centre. This will promote ecotourism activities and create awareness of the flora and fauna of the tiger reserve.
