Passengers continue to treat Atal Setu, the longest sea bridge in India, as a picnic spot, stopping to take pictures and even venturing into restricted areas. Navi Mumbai Police has received a video of this incident and has forwarded it to the concerned Traffic Branch. Mumbai Police has issued a warning on social media, stating that it is illegal to stop on the bridge and take photos. The bridge, built at a cost of Rs 17,840 crore, aims to provide faster connectivity to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports and reduce travel time to Pune, Goa, and South India.
