A total of 77 people have been arrested after the fresh clash erupted following violence during Ram Navami celebrations in the state, said police officials on Sunday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday tore into the Nitish Kumar-led Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar for failing to check communal violence in Sasaram and Bihar Sharif towns and asserted that rioters will be hung upside down if the BJP forms the government in the state in 2025.
Tension prevailed in Bihar even a day after Ram Navami as fresh violence violence was reported in Rohtas and Nalanda districts yesterday, the police said.
After violence erupted in several districts of Bihar, many reports suggested that Hindus are leaving their homes in Sasaram out of fear that the Muslim population will harm them.
As many as 32 people were arrested in ongoing raids in connection with the violence during the Ram Navami celebrations and after, police informed on Sunday.
