Power Mech Projects sizzles on winning multiple orders

Power Mech Projects rose 3.7% to Rs 560 after the EPC company received letters of award for orders worth Rs 734 crore.The company received a Rs 401 crore order from Vedanta for operating & maintaining of boilers & auxiliaries, TG & auxiliaries, DM plant, electrical, filed operations and other miscellaneous jobs of 4 x 660 MW, thermal power plant at Jharsuguda, Odisha. It bagged EPC work order worth Rs 198 crore from Kurmitar Iron Ore Mining for design & engineering, supply, installation, commissioning and PGT of 9 MTPA ore handling package at primary area in Odisha. The company won an all civil, architectural and structural work order worth Rs 135 crore for main plant for 2X660 MW Khurja STPP (turbine generator and associated packages) from BHEL at Khurja, Uttar Pradesh.

The power transmission & distribution (PT&D) business of Larsen & Toubro has won a slew of orders across its spectrum of offerings.According to L&T s classification, the value of large contract lies between Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore. PT&D has secured two EPC orders to establish more than 400 MW solar photovoltaic projects in the state of Gujarat. A 765kV double circuit transmission line package has been received through a project specific transmission company. In West Bengal, orders have been received to supply and install high voltage distribution systems in certain districts on a turnkey mode. This grid modernization programme in semi-urban and rural areas is being implemented by the state with multilateral assistance. Another order to construct 220kV and 132kV transmission lines has been won from the state transmission utility.

Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said its power transmission and distribution business has bagged large domestic and overseas contracts across its spectrum of offerings. Though the company did not specify the exact value of the contracts, as per its specification a large contract ranges between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore. The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Business of Larsen & Toubro has secured two engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders to establish more than 400 MW solar photovoltaic projects in Gujarat, the company said in a statement.
