law, at least takes effect. how big a win was this for the gop? joining me now, politico s national reporter. happy new year. ed: democrat seems to be effective during the debate saying this is about the rich, it s not gonna help the middle class. the president, before he left for florida said, look, i m not gonna have to sell this. once people start getting fatter pay checks in february, that s when the irs said with holding will take effect, is that gonna start turning this around? that s certainly the gop s hope. talking to a lot of republicans on capitol hill, they essentially say the same thing over and over, which is this bill will sell itself. once people start to see it in their pay checks. they ll be happier with it. then all the negative talk about the gop tax bill will move to the side. democrat, however, aren t going to just shut up about this. democrats want this to be a negative tax bill. they want republicans to get more and more unpopular. for now it is still unpo

remove him as chairman. you have a greater chance of an independent committee being formed or a commission being formed to look into this than you have of nunes being removed from that i think that what sch doing, again, is just sort of the political posturing of the day, which will lead to absolutely nothing in terms of what happens to nunes. i should note the speaker has said today in a statement he has faith in chairman nunes. chris, what about democrats in all of this? friday, you had the big news of health care, not making it through the house. how big a win was that? how do you play off of that? and what about the question about whether obama compacare s needs to be fixed? well, it s a pretty significant defeat, considering it s the first piece of legislation that the trump administration had tried to pass. he clearly ran on it, republicans had repealed it about a billion times when they were in the minority, and in the sorry, when they were in the majority, and so i think
