i m not so sure about that. things that democrats and people like me supporting were popular elements, tax cuts for middle class. trying to extend unemployment insurance. things republicans were asked for were the less popular things. i m not sure where the leverage lies. we are always trying to do what is best for the american people. i think borrowing 63 billion dollars from the chinese to give tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires is a nicening if we could afford to do it, but we can t. so i think there are elements of this thing that were unafford and unsustainable. also elements of the payroll tax, borrowed from social secure. i don t like that precedent either. i m not sure i buy the premise this was the best deal and even if it was, it wasn t good enough. mike: i understand the deficit, i don t think anybody likes them. you voted for the health care bill, that s a trillion dollars. you voted for stimulus, 787,
