While Wednesday’s storm drops an expected 12 to 18 inches of snow across parts of New Jersey, Paul Vagianos will be inside his Ridgewood restaurant all night periodically venturing into the cold to brush flakes off the roofs of the outdoor dining “greenhouses” on the sidewalk in front of his business.
Vagianos, owner of It’s Greek to Me on E. Ridgewood Avenue, said he needs to stop snow from accumulating on the eight plexiglass structures to ensure they don’t get damaged under the extra weight and high winds. He spent about $8,000 and four months constructing them.
