Volunteer Jane Mallinson has raised nearly £1500 for Big Noise Govanhill - by walking the distance between all four Scottish orchestras. The journey of 310 miles covers the distance from the South Side to Big Noise Torry in Aberdeen by way of Big Noise Raploch in Stirling and Big Noise Douglas in Dundee. As well doing something valuable for the children s charity, Jane said she has also boosted her fitness and discovered a new side to her city.

Aberdeen FC is backing a project that involves schoolchildren across the north-east locking away memories of coronavirus in time capsules and sending them into the future.
The items will go in both the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire capsules.
‘We have responsibility to local community’
The squad will also be placing a letter in each capsule, discussing the challenges the past year has brought to the club.

A world-famous percussionist has been named as the ambassador for a charity that transforms young lives through music.
Dame Evelyn Glennie, who is originally from Methlick, near Ellon, is the world’s premier solo percussionist.
She has today been announced as ambassador for Sistema Scotland, and will play an important role in promoting the charity’s Big Noise programme in Torry, Dundee, Glasgow and Stirling.
