welcome to our viewers this thursday morning. i m christine romans. donald trump giving us a review of what his 2024 campaign will look like and sound like. the 45th president and republican frontrunner for the white house taking questions last night from gop primary voters at a town hall. trump wasted little time in airing his same old grieveness as. he repeated a core lie to kaitlan collins that he won the 2020 election. polls show that you were dominating the republican race but also under active federal investigation for trying to overturn the 2020 election results. your first term ended with a deadly riot at the capitol and you still have not publicly acknowledged the 2020 election results. why should americans put you back in the white house? because we did fantastically. we got 12 million more votes than we had as you know in 2016. i actually say that we did far better in that election. got the most that anybody has ever gotten as a sitting president of the united
that i m fit to be serving and that s what i believe is where i m standing. democrats are seizing on dr. oz already on defense for criticism of discredited theories he promoted on television saying this when asked whether aside from exceptions should abortion be banned in america. i ve been in the room when there s some difficult conversations happening. i don t want the federal government involved with that at all. i want women, doctors, local political leaders leading the democracy that s allowed our nation to thrive to put the best ideas forward so states can decide for themselves. we ll get reaction here as well as reports from other key contests across the nation. and we ll take a closer look at threats to election workers undermining access to the vote and election security in georgia, two years after former president trump tried to change the 2020 results. good day, everyone. i m andrea mitchell here in pittsburgh and the big question in pennsylvania this morning
one of the other big moments last night were his comments in to the georgia investigation into his actions after he lost the 2020 election. listen to that. having a normal call, nobody said, oh, gee, he shouldn t have said that. if this call was bad, i question the election, if this call was you asked him to find votes. i didn t ask him anything. look, all i want to do is this, i just want to find 11,780 votes which is one more than we have because we won the state. so i m wondering if his intransigence on the georgia vote situation, does that hurt him? with who? i think a lot of this is baked in. it doesn t seem seems like the people that really like him and could potentially get him through a republican primary can which we re seeing in the
boldly and courageously. and of course this is an election. there will come a point where we start to dial that thing back into what we actually might be able to accomplish. but i just love the fact that you had people who are willing to talk about big things. just because this big thing doesn t mean it can t happen, it just means it hadn t happened yet. what i love sorry? there were a lot of big moments last night. it was a long, serious, deep discussion about policy. that discussion on health care, that went on for, like, 35 minutes and there were differences. there were real kimpdifferences. let s listen to a bit of is that. bernie sanders and elizabeth warren were defending their medicare for all. we can create a universal health care system to give everyone basic health care for free and i have a proposal to do it. but we don t have to go around and be the party of subtraction
you have to try to do two things. i talk to a lot of folks who do debate prep. number one don t say something idiotic, and you want to try to have a moment. because not everybody is watching, but those clip reels live on forever on youtube and everywhere else. a lot of people thought one of the big moments last night was senator amy klobuchar and i want to show that. this president literally every single day ten minutes away from going to war, one tweet away from going to war. and i don t think we should conduct foreign policy. your time is up. in our banl robe at 5:00 in the morning. congresswoman gabbard. the bathrobe at 5:00 a.m. is getting played over and over again. you had a lot of one and two percenters, people who are going to need this debate to make money to get up in the polls so in september at that third debate they can make the stage. who are you looking for to have a breakout moment who might have that moment? i m actually looking to pete
