There's going to be a new musical to fall in love with next season. Yash Raj Films, India's largest film studio, will produce a new musical adaptation of the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge titled Come Fall in Love - The DDLJ Musical. The musical will make its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego in September 2022 before transferring to Broadway in the 2022-23 season.

With the shuttering of cinema theaters due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the year 2020 saw a major dip in the theatrical releases of movies across the world and thus the least number of debutantes making their first mark on the big screen.
The year saw the biggest shutdown of the entertainment industry with shoots being suspended for over 5 months and cinema halls being shut for a period of seven months. A large number of movies, therefore, either couldn’t be shot due to the pandemic restrictions or couldn’t see the light of the day due to closed movie theaters.
