NSI facility will go on the market – Sheridan Media

The Normative Services Academy facility located west of Sheridan will soon be placed on the market according to NSI board of directors member and former Sheridan County Commissioner Bob Rolston.  According to Rolston, the 227 acre facility, which was operated by Sequel Youth and Family Services based out of Alabama, closed its doors after officials in California made the decision to withdraw its youth from Sequel Service facilities throughout the U.S.  NSI owns the property, and will now place it up for sale. The facility includes a football field and track, large resident housing which includes classrooms, a medical facility, a gymnasium and cafeteria and six homes that were used for staff housing.

A Look Back in Time: March 6, 1921 – Sheridan Media

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on March 6, 1921. Miss Emma Mankameyer and Harold Johnson, both of Sheridan, narrowly escaped death by drowning, and their companions suffered exposure from water and mud when the automobile in which they were riding skidded and overturned into the Big Goose Creek last night. The incident happened just south of the bridge on the Big Horn cement road three miles south of Sheridan. Miss Miriam Jacobs entertained a group of her high school friends at her home on Tschirgi street last night in honor of her 17th birth anniversary.
