Town boss Paul Jewell says he appreciates the support he and his players have had even during the recent run of seven successive defeats. The Blues were applauded off after last Saturday’s 2-1 home reverse against Watford.
Boss Roy Keane says that Town are more likely to look at loan signings than permanent additions to the squad in January. The Blues have the likes of David Norris and Luciano Civelli returning from injury and Kevin Lisbie will be back from his loan at Colchester, while a number of other players currently out of the first team picture could be sent out on temporary spells.
McCarthy: Game Lacked Intensity

Manager Mick McCarthy admitted that Town’s final day of the season 2-0 defeat at Burnley lacked the intensity it would have had if the Blues had still needed points to stay up. Second half goals from Junior Stanislas and Martin Paterson saw the Clarets to victory.
“It didn’t did it?” McCarthy conceded. “I thought we had a decent first half, I thought we were the better team in the first half, we started really well.
“But neither team had the edge and they got a wonder strike which changed it. It took a deflection, I believe. That just changed the course of the game.
