then monday happens. the mother does this lol text, which you know, which i interpret, as a mother, to be you and me, it s us against them. she s saying, basically, ignore the school district. i m not mad about you. just don t get caught. it s me and you, kid. she denigrates the school s concern, then ignores the parents responsibility to notify the school that the son is in possession or has a gun. they don t know where the gun is. none of this is reasonable behavior. it s why this case is so important. you know, this isn t about bad parenting. people don t go to jail for bad parenting mostly. this is about unreasonable parenting by any standard. the duty for a responsible gun possession and gun ownership in this country. and that s why this is such a big deal case. because it is getting around our
they said we want that s not a decision on the merits. today the court is going to reach a decision on the merits. neil, good morning. it s jonathan lamire. certainly it s a busy docket for the supreme court in the coming weeks. you mentioned another case beyond abortion, another hot button issue, guns. and the court is going to be taking up a case out of new york which some believe could lead to a real expansion of people who can carry firearms around. walk us through the case. it s merits, where it comes from, and where you think the court will end up. this is a big deal case. it s called new york rifle. new york basically prohibits the concealed carrying of firearms unless you have a special justification. and then there s a separate case which the supreme court has on hold. that s my case out of hawaii for readers, full disclosure in which hawaii prohibits the open carrying of firearms, and that was upheld by the court of appeals. the supreme court is going to take up the new
way, we can say certainly. how should they react, all the key partners in this world order, if you will, to handle the speed by which this president makes decisions? because, as you and potentially others have said before, there is an opportunity to right size the united states involvement in various theaters around the world. i think that s going on here, richard, is that our partners are simply puzzled by all of this, and dismayed. i know that for a fact because i hear that from them. and part of it is simply, and the ambassador alluded to this, you know, one can complain about the process in our government. it can be slow, it can be iterative, those can be negative things too. but when you have a process where everyone sits down around a table and looks at a decision like this, you have a better understanding of what are the secondary consequences of what you re doing, how can you mitigate the negative sides of it. in this particular case, i would
