Before there were Power Rangers or Big Bad Beetleborgs, there was Voltron: Defender of the Universe. Adapted from two Japanese animes, the show made it big for American audiences in the mid 80’s, but was short lived. After re-releases, comic books, and other products, it is finally coming back in a brand new fashion.
As part of Netflix’s plans to increase the number of original content, a new Voltron is being made exclusively for the streaming provider. This is all thanks to a deal made with DreamWorks Animation, which should see even more great shows come to life. As far as Voltron, however, fans can be excited that Hollywood director Guillermo Del Toro is producing the new series. His style and creativity should take care of the beloved series in a fantastic way.
