started to return to normal. many streets are open and tourists are allowed back in their hotels, a few hours ago, the nissan path finder, that contained this incendiary device was towed from the scene, taken e away on a flatbed truck covered by a yellow tarp and a lot of new yorkers and tourists and officials, breathing a sigh of relief. the device came close to detonating. a t-shirt vendor spotted smoke coming from the back of the nissan path finder. he notified the police, they notified the fire department, and the fire department arrived on the scene. and what they d usually do when there is a presumed car fire is break into the vehicle and do everything possible to put out that fire. in this case, officials on the scene quickly realized there was something wrong here. that the smoke was coming out of the rear of the vehicle, not the engine, and they orders the fire department, police units away. the times square area was sealed

jamie: so many concerns, businesses in this area are concerned, people won t come there and people who live in this area are concerned terrorists could be among them. there is no question the authorities are doing an incredible job, responding so quickly, and, getting responsible information out there, which is what we ll do here, at fox. we ll report what we truly know. but how many agencies are involved in this? and you were on the task force for 14 years. the terrorism task force here. have they benefitted from the new technology? are there thanks they have at their disposal in this instance, that will help them in the investigation? we like to rely on technology, we love the television shows, crime scene, but, what cracks these cases is good, solid investigation, police work, the investigators from the police department, new york city police department, the fbi, all the agencies that are involved in the airist task force will get on the streets
