Lynch: Biden will tap Walsh as Secretary of Labor

BOSTON President-elect Joe Biden plans to nominate Boston Mayor Marty Walsh to serve as his Labor secretary, U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch confirmed to WCVB-TV on Thursday.
Walsh, who is a former top union leader, is longtime friends with the incoming president.
Others who were under consideration for the post include U.S. Rep. Andy Levin, D-Michigan, former Deputy Labor Secretary Seth Harris, California Labor Secretary Julie Su and AFL-CIO Chief Economist Bill Spriggs.
AP, CNN, The Washington Post and Politico reported the move, citing sources.
Neither Walsh nor his representatives have commented on the reports.
