President of the United States of America Joseph R. Biden has formally accepted credentials of M Shahidul Islam as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to the United States.
In an acceptance letter signed on February 17, 2021, President Biden welcomed the new Ambassador to the United States and expressed his Government’s desire to advance common goals and deepen the strong and abiding friendship between the two countries, said the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC on Saturday.
It may be mentioned that due to the exigencies of the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Government did not arrange the traditional ceremony for in-person submission of the credentials to the President.
