Macon faith, community leaders react to increasing homicide rate

So far this week, there have been two homicides in Bibb County with both people dying from gunshot wounds. As the year continues, faith and community leaders are urging everyone to put the guns down while offering up solutions.  48-year-old Parrish Forster was found shot to death in west Macon early Monday. Three days later, 21-year-old Cameron Ashley was shot and killed in north Macon. It s heartbreaking to continue hearing about the violence, especially the gun violence, Pastor Carlos Kelly of Beulahland Bible Church said. 

Bibb County Sheriff s Office investigating homicide on Rocky Creek Road | 96 5 The Bull

By Tyler Jacobs Mar 4, 2021 The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that was reported to have occurred at 2590 Rocky Creek Road, Majestic Gardens Apartments just after 7:00 p.m. It was reported that 16-year-old Amerie Searcy, of Macon, was walking in the parking lot of Majestic Garden Apartments when an unknown subject began shooting. Searcy was struck once during the incident. Searcy was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office. No one else was injured during the incident. There is no information on the suspect at this time.
