Social Media Armchair Expert Boom Is Dangerous, Especially During COVID

The thoughts expressed are those of the author.  The twists and turns of the coronavirus pandemic have been a frantic enough ride as it is, but trying to imagine what it would have been like in a pre-social media era seems mind-boggling.

SAUL LOEB/AFP via Getty Images Four months after my sister was killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, I watched the US Senate fall a handful of votes shy of passing landmark background checks for gun sales legislation. 93% of Americans support background checks on all gun sales  including 89% of Republicans and 89% of gun owners. After the mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder, the Senate must take up life-saving background checks legislation once again.

Bad Politicians Should Be Held Accountable by the American People
