BHUBANESWAR: Cyclonic storm Yaas that hit the north Odisha coasts on Wednesday has disrupted the power supply in Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and partially in other coastal districts.
Though the energy department is yet to come out with the amount of loss to energy infrastructure, reports from the ground said damages to the power and telecom infrastructure are less than what has been anticipated initially. Cities like Bhubaneswar and Cuttack remained mostly unaffected.
However, there are reports of massive damage to power infrastructure in few pockets of Bhadrak, Balaore and Mayurbhanj districts.
