According to the interim budget presented on Thursday, Rs 197 crore has been allocated for the doubling of Gadag-Hotgi, Rs 180.4 crore for Penukonda-Dharmavaram, Rs 150 crore for Baiyappanahalli-Hosur, Rs 150 crore for Yeshwanathpur-Channasandra, Rs 200 crore for Londa-Miraj, Rs 94 crore for Hubballi-Chikkajajur, Rs 260 crore for quadrupling of Bengaluru Cantonment-Whitefield, Rs 400 crore for Hospet-Thinaighat-Vasco Da-Gama, and Rs 100.1 crore for Hosur-Omalur railway lines.
The adoption of standardised signage is crucial due to the large number of railway stations in India, which stands at over 7,300, spread across 17 zones and 68 divisions, each with their unique styles of signage.
