In a letter to Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, they say no revision since pact on pay ended in August 2018 The Left Members of Parliament from Kerala have requested Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resolve the issues pertaining to the pay revision of the workers in Bharat Petroleum Corporation-Kochi Refinery.
In a letter sent to the Minister on Thursday, they pointed out that the long-term agreement related to their pay revision had to be renewed from August 1, 2018. But no pay revision has taken place so far. The methodology for pay fixation as implemented for officers in other public sector undertakings was given to the officers of the BPCL too, it said.

Kerala now a favoured industrial investment destination, says Chief Minister
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the petrochemicals park coming up on 229 acres at Ambalamugal. He said the facility pointed to the growth of Kerala as one of the favoured industrial investment destinations in the country.
The petrochemicals park is coming up on land acquired from the public sector Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore, close to the Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s Kochi refinery. The State had acquired nearly 482 acres from FACT. BPCL refinery was given 171 acres on lease for its development and expansion activities. T

Clauses in wage revision contract aimed at divestment, says union
Employees of Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s Kochi refinery here staged a “standup protest” on Monday during the visit by Union Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapur to the refinery, to register their opposition to the proposed privatisation of the oil company.
The demands raised by the employees included withdrawal of the privatisation move as well as revision of salaries of the employees to bring them on par with that of employees of other oil companies, said a communication from the trade union here.
