GUWAHATI: The Bhangagarh Police on Tuesday night arrested a fraudster for duping a woman on the pretext of marriage. The accused, Jitu Roy alias Dharmeswar Roy (38) is a resident of Baihata Chariali and he was arrested after a case was lodged by the victim woman, who is a resident of Sixmile here. According to a police source, Roy duped the victim woman s mother to the tune of Rs 4 lakh. He promised the victim that he will marry her however, he hid that he is already married. The police source stated that earlier, Roy was lodged in jail four times in connection to different cases.
