started. you are for that reform and bringing back the filibuster. i am. that s what it was supposed to be. the idea is almost getting to the point where there is, you know, democracy is having a hard time functioning. maria: democrats have been pushing to kill or reform the filibuster since with biden took office knowing it is truly the republican s last line of defense against their radical agenda. but they heard biden s comments this morning and now they cannot wait to get to work. biden s remarks are a major shift in his position. he has given new energy and potential movement to the reform effort. he recognizes his program will be stopped unless we reform the filibuster. maria: don t like the rules of the game? change the rules. apparently that s the democrat motto when in power. mitch mcconnell has seen it happen over and over again. so i guess where they stand depends on where they sit. and so when they are in a position to advance the ball, they don t care.
hiring. they are not stopping there. as if we were not spending enough already, plans are underway for a new deal-style infrastructure plan costing trillions of dollars and then they will try to pass it without a single republican vote. but ultimately, [inaudible] maria: of course, hr one, a sweeping election reform law making mail-in ballots the standard and do away with need an i.d. to vote. this will fundamentally change the way this country votes and solidify power for the democrats. it has already passed in the house, but it is due in the senate unless democrats vote to end the filibuster. progressives want to get rid of that as well. rather than protecting the balanced system, today s filibuster throws the system out of balance giving one half of one branch of government what amounts to veto. it promotes gridlock, not good governance. maria: it is amazing how the definition of good governance changes in just three short years. this was him in 2018. they are

maria: now, even though the biden administration will not admit that we have a migrant crisis on the southern border, they have to know it. they see the surging numbers of migrants, more than 100,000 last month alone. and quietly, they are scrambling to meet the moment. mobilizing fema to house and help process the exploding number of unaccompanied minors arriving at the border every day. that s right. fema, the agency we use to clean up after disasters like hurricanes and wildfires. biden wouldn t be sending fema to the border if there wasn t a disaster there as well. and it s not just families and unaccompanied minors being picked up at our borders. it s criminals as well. here is texas governor gregg abbott told me yesterday on sunday morning futures. first two and a half months of this year they made about 110,000 apprehensions including in those apprehensions are 800 criminal aliens, criminal aliens who have previously been arrested and exported from the united state
