The commission was recommended by the organizers of Beyond Apology, a community-led effort to educate Tulsans on what reparations for the Race Massacre could look like and gather their perspectives.
A Beyond Apology team meeting was held on Thursday to continue the community conversation on what repair and reparations should look like in Tulsa following the 1921 Race Massacre.
Willette Burks, 63, was one of about 75 people who attended Thursday s meeting. She said that if even one of the eight suggested reparations is realized, that would be progress.
