Collin Huckbody (9-2) vs. Aaron Jeffery (9-2)
The COVID-19 era has led some organizations to adopt a new event format. Instead of spreading out dates across multiple weeks and months, these companies choose to run shows on consecutive nights. So is the case this week for Cage Fury Fighting Championships, which delivers CFFC 92 on Thursday and follows with CFFC 93 on Friday. The latter of these efforts includes a middleweight title tilt between champion Collin Huckbody and challenger Aaron Jeffery.
“Young Huck” enters on the strength of a six-fight winning streak. The 26-year-old made his pro debut in 2017 after a 6-1-1 amateur run and went just 3-2 through his first five appearances, including a decision loss to Bevon Lewis at Legacy Fighting Alliance 38. Huckbody found his groove in the second half of 2018 and kicked off his current streak with a decision nod over sub-.500 fighter Thomas Krenzel. According to a report from ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, a planned middleweight contest between former UFC champion Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall for UFC 258 has been delayed after Weidman tested positive for COVID-19. The reported plan is to keep the matchup intact and instead move it to UFC 261 in April.
The fight has not yet been signed for the planned move. There have been reported discussions for UFC to hold UFC 261 in Singapore, but those plans are not yet final.
Weidman and Hall previously fought at Ring of Combat 31 in September 2010. Weidman won the fight by knockout in the first round. That was the first loss of Hall’s professional MMA career.

Uriah Hall isn’t looking past the next challenge ahead of him, but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t have his eyes on the current middleweight champion.
Hall was scheduled to face former champ Chris Weidman in the co-main event of UFC 258. However, Hall will have to wait in his attempt to avenge his loss to Weidman, the first of his career from a regional matchup from September 2010 where Weidman picked up a first-round TKO win, due to a positive COVID-19 test for the former champion. April is the targeted timeframe for the rescheduling of the matchup, but nothing has been made official.
