The incident happened near the intersection of Richardson Road and Whitmore Road. St John Ambulance spokeswoman Beverley Tse said they were called at 12.39pm and one ambulance and two rapid response units attended. An empty Auckland Transport (AT) bus was also seen at the scene, however AT media relations manager Mark Hannan confirmed that the double decker bus was not the cause of the crash, but was caught in traffic as a result. The Serious Crash Unit has been notified and will examine the scene.
