Janet Lanning, 76, of Spring Valley, MN, passed away peacefully in her home on February 24, 2022 surrounded by family. Jan was born to Donald and Betty Mullin on May 20, 1945, in Bloomington, MN. She attended Lincoln High School and then began attending the University of Minnesota with her two dear friends, Cheryl and Carol. In 1983, Jan made the move to Spring Valley, MN with her 3 children to be with her new husband and love of her life, Don Lanning. Together they ran 2 very successful grocery stores, one in Spring Valley, the other in Chatfield.
San Juan woman charged with shoplifting

A SAN JUAN woman has been granted bail after she appeared virtually in court on a charge of shoplifting.
Betty Mullin, 44, of Pickaxe Trace appeared before Arima magistrate Avion Gill on Monday charged with larceny. She was granted $15,000 bail with a surety.
A police press release on Monday said on July 4, based on a report, members of the Arima Municipal Police went to Xtra Foods Supermarket on O’Meara Road, Arima.
There the informant, a security guard at the supermarket, told them a woman allegedly took $990 worth of items and tried to leave the store without paying.
