Lubbock couple celebrates milestone 70th wedding anniversary
Jim and Betty Lowder have experienced a lot in the last 70 years they have been married, and not even COVID-19 could stop them from celebrating their special anniversary Wednesday.
Betty and Jim have lived in Lubbock the majority of their lives and in that time have been integral members in nonprofit organizations they support, First United Methodist Church, and have both been named distinguished alumni from their respective colleges at Texas Tech University.
They married when they were 18 years old and have found the key to a lasting marriage is to grow together.
