HANNAWA FALLS Helping Hands of Hannawa Falls received one of its largest donations ever recently from a “Secret Santa” recently.
Helping Hands of Potsdam Board member and volunteer Betty Connolly went to the post office in Hannawa Falls this past Tuesday, and imagine her surprise when one of the checks she picked up to deposit for Helping Hands was for $10,000,” said Helping Hands Executive Director Tom Chappell.
He said the anonymous donation was mailed to Helping Hands by a local Potsdam CPA, but there was no information accompanying the donation, except a note from the accountant stating that their client had received an unexpected windfall and wanted to spread some Christmas cheer.
