AN interactive online map detailing a 15 mile walking and cycling route taking in Colchester’s most beautiful open spaces has been unveiled. Colchester Council has partnered with Walk Colchester to create the Colchester Orbital route, which was devised with the help of Colchester Natural History Society, Colchester Ramblers, Essex Bridleways Association, Cycle Colchester and Sustrans. The new map, paid for as part of the council’s Better Colchester initiative, enables users to interact with the walking and cycle routes in the area, providing environmental and heritage information as well as practical details about connecting with transport options. Users can plan their own routes, find out about community activities or discover more about the town’s landscapes from the comfort of their home.
