The hot team can refer people to the navigation center, those stays are limited to 30days. The majority of people staying there end up on the street after 30days. When we look at the people going to the navigation center, the numbers are not significant. We look at the numbers coming out. The persistence of homelessness is a problem of political will until the public understands the city needs to invest in housing, this problem is going to continue. I think we need the Police Department to educate constituents about this instead of saying police can get people into services or perpetuating the idea the members of the public have that polices is the solution, it is crucial to be honest with the public. President turman is the Police Department perpetuating that idea . Are we telling the people that policing the homeless is what we are here for, we can get you into these services . That is not us. Universally in the neighborhood would like to see that developed as housing. I mean, we have a housing crisis in this city. And the parking lot itself, you know, in the long run, isnt what the community, i think, is going to want or need. The communitys becoming more tech focused. I think well see a decline in cars. Unless somethings done with the traffic situation there, i mean but tigers will be there forever. Tigers and glen park station, and la corneta, i think, will never go away. You know, this is a dilemma that im probably going to ask the department to explain, but you know, my auntie rosa owned the dry cleaner on the corner for years that had all the Police Uniforms on it.
