Someone reported seeing a body in the river in the area of Gaddis Park on Monday. Officers responded to the area and located the body. Betsy Cunningham from Housing First Umpqua told KEZI 9 News that their nonprofit is dedicated to reducing homelessness and increasing permanent housing. She said this is the third homeless death in the month of January alone. She said she is disappointed by it because she believes the community could do more to protect the homeless from dying.

A Downtown Oneonta Staple Is Closing Its Doors

A Downtown Oneonta Staple Is Closing Its Doors Oneonta Artware located at 170 Main St. has been a downtown staple as long as I can remember. Sadly, according to AllOTSEGO, this beloved business which has been open for almost 40 years, established in 1980, will be closing its doors at the end of February. The staff (pictured from left to right) include: Jenna Bordinget, Erin Hill, Susan Blass, owner Betsy Cunningham and Bill Austin. The building has new owners now and we can only hope that whatever moves in there will be a well enjoyed addition to the community! Enter your number to get our free mobile app
