A POLICE officer has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a missing woman. Sarah Everard, who is from York and went to Durham University, vanished while walking home from a friend’s flat in south London on Wednesday March 3. The Metropolitan Police said the officer had initially been arrested on suspicion of kidnap on Tuesday, and was then further arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday. He was also arrested over a separate allegation of indecent exposure. The force said he is a member of the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command and his primary duty is uniformed patrol of diplomatic premises.

Sheppey mum-of-two Krystal Pearce did even better when, driving along the back lanes of Eastchurch, she turned a corner and discovered this stunning icicle hedge near the Dickens Inn.

She said: It was like finding the Island s very own entrance to Narnia. It was like a winter wonderland. It was lovely to see. It was only because cars have been splashing it with water as they drove past and the water froze. It looked crystalised. It looked gorgeous. I felt like I was in a totally different world of peace.

A long-empty hotel is set to reopen in August as a six-pronged complex featuring a country pub, bistro and pizza restaurant.
The Stubbs Restaurant and Bar is set to open in the summer - but only if the Covid-19 vaccine has been fully rolled out
The husband-and-wife duo - who have a proven track record of turning failing pubs into successful eateries - have been working on their plans ever since and have now revealed more details about the bold scheme.
Set to create 75 jobs, the first phase of the £4m project features six key parts: country pub, bistro, Spanish-inspired courtyard, champagne and oyster bar, 100-seat fine-dining restaurant and small gourmet pizza restaurant.
