The article on Marie Heinitz submitted by Benedictine Living Community-Crookston with the assistance of Marie’s daughter Jan Aamoth.     Marie grew up in a small town in southwestern Minnesota called Mt. Lake on a farm and went to country school.  Marie’s lifelong love of coffee began at age 5 thanks to the family rule that you had to “milk cows to enjoy coffee”.  Needless to say Marie started milking very early on.

Harland Kenneth Rue Site staff MOUNT HOREB – Harland Kenneth Rue, age 96, of Mount Horeb, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. JoAnn, his loving wife of 72 years, was at his side. Harland Rue was born Dec. 17, 1924, to Norwegian immigrants, Halvor and Minnie (Nelson) Rue, at the Meadow Vale farm in the township of Arena. Harland married JoAnn Marie Oimoen on Easter Sunday night on March 28, 1948, at Barneveld Lutheran Church. Harland and JoAnn started their love of travel by celebrating their honeymoon on a road trip to New Mexico and Arizona. Faith, Family, and Farm were Harland’s priorities.
