× FAMILY and friends of a young man who tragically died will turn a charity challenge he had planned into one taken on in his memory - and have raised more than £6,000 so far.
Shaun Stubbs said he was ‘amazed’ at the outpouring of support after the death of his 22-year-old son Liam in the early hours of Saturday morning.
‘Popular and kind’ Liam, from Worsbrough Bridge, was a regular supporter of charities and ‘was there for everyone’, Shaun told the Chronicle.
He turned the garage of his Shield Avenue home into a freely-accessible gym - he would leave the key for anyone wanting to use it - and had planned to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks for the Alzheimer’s Society next month.

Employees raised $180,000 to support more than 20 different charity organizations around the world.
“It is important for our teams to give back and the Walk for Them project is yet another opportunity to come together and support communities that need it the most, said Charles Bell, vice president of operations mid-Pacific. Locally on Guam, DFS selected Harvest House as the beneficiary.
The company presented Harvest House with a check from $10,000 at the organization s resource center Jan. 8. Our commitment to (Harvest House Executive Director) Bethany Taylor and her team is total, and we identified other ways to support the Harvest House on the planning and logistics aspects of their operations,” Bell said.
Miss Teresa Anne Burdick (TC), age 57, passed away January 13, 2021. She is the fourth child of Charles F. and Virginia R. (Puccia) Burdick of Watertown. Growing up, she started out attending the ARC on Gaffney Drive, actually helping to cut the ribbon of the new building, along with Senator Barclay at the time, in 1966. She later attended Starbuck School, Wiley School and received her Individual Education Program diploma from Watertown High School in 1984. She and her classmates were one of the first children with special needs to be âmainstreamedâ into the public school system.
TC had a great love of life. She loved God, her family and friends and her smile lifted you whenever she was around. She had a strong devotion to Saint Theresa of the Flowers.
