bethany richards, mayor pro tem is standing by there. let me see what you ve got going on in new bern. have you got people trapped there? yes. good morning. thank you for being here and thank you for talking to us. it s been a rough night for all of us, all of our citizens. bethany, shout out to her because she s awesome. i know her well. i m glad she s safe. but we currently have 4,325 residences that have been damaged. that equates to about 10,000 people. we re still working on our rough commercial numbers so i don t have that as of yet. we are on a curfew from 7 a.m. this morning until 7 a.m. tomorrow. that s because the storm is not over. as we heard in the fema update, it will swirl around. we will have more wind. we will have more rain.
