No fewer than six ex-workers for Cookhouse (Bolton) Ltd had taken the outfit to an employment tribunal. Claims ranged from unlawful deductions from wages to missing holiday pay. Employment judge Jennifer Newstead Taylor, sitting in Manchester, ruled that Cookhouse should take the place of Heaton-based Mark Ryan, one of the former directors, to answer the cases. And in each case the judge ruled in favour of the employees. Craig Shepherd s wages and holiday claims amounted to £3,040. For Bethany Pearson, the firm was ordered to pay £589.07 for wages plus £699.50 for holiday pay.
