A 48-year-old Wood River man is dead following a motorcycle crash near Bethalto Thursday morning. Investigators say Jeffrey K. Wright died at the scene of the accident near the Moreland Road / White Tail Road intersection just after 9am.
Captain Will Dimitroff of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department The Big Z it appears to have been a single-vehicle accident.

As for a cause, Dimitroff suspects speed played a factor, as there are no indications of road hazards in the area.
