February 5, 2021 MACOMB, IL L.I.F.E. (Learning Is ForEver) is an organization at Western Illinois University dedicated to providing high-quality, low-cost and enjoyable adult-education experiences. The Macomb L.I.F.E. program is affiliated with the national organization, Road Scholar: Elderhostel Institute Network (EIN). It is independently administered by area residents who develop the courses, select the teachers, establish the fees and promote the curriculum. Life courses for Spring 2021 include: • The Armchair Traveler – 1:30-3:30 p.m., Thursdays, March 4, 11 and 18 over Zoom – Cost free: Max enrollment per session: 20 - March 4 – Tom Stites will present Macomb on the Move, a presentation from his 15-year-old self of what downtown Macomb looked like in that era. All the people, so many people . . . For decades of my life, urban parks have offered little interest. Acquire a child or a dog, or both, and suddenly these green spaces become paramount. In lockdown, they have become city-dwellers most important shared space. Though even they are now being billed as a potential danger zone.
