Mountain Home senior Reagan Buckley was recently awarded the Best in Show award at the First Congressional District Art Competition hosted by U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford. Buckley will now have her winning artwork displayed in Washington, D.C.
Buckley used charcoal and white conte to create her winning drawing, entitled “Embrace.” Her artwork will be displayed in the Cannon Hall for a year along with other congressional district winners. She will also receive two airline vouchers to travel to D.C. to attend the Congressional Art reception later this summer.
Crawford’s’s office received more than 200 submissions from grades 9-12 for this year’s competition. Jayson Mirafuentes and Brandon King, both of Jonesboro, served as the competition’s judges.
