2021 is the Year of the Ox
The Chinese New Year begins today as the Year of the Ox. Sheboygan County Historical Research Center Executive Director Beth Dippel says many of the attributes ascribed to people born in the year of the ox, like diligence, dependability, strength and determination, also apply to oxen. The animals were widely used in Wisconsin during the early 1800’s when much of the state was covered in forests.
