South Bend announces return of Best Week Ever in August

SOUTH BEND — South Bend’s Venues Parks & Arts department announced the return of Best Week Ever, scheduled for Aug. 1-7. Traditionally held to kick off the beginning of the summer season, Best Week Ever officials pushed the event to August this year in anticipation of reduced COVID-19 infection rates. The week-long festival celebrates South Bend’s creativity and culture through daily events. As part of the week, a tiny house will be on display at each day’s signature event. Attendees also can enter a contest to win the house. More events will be announced in upcoming weeks. For more information, visit bestweekever2021.com and Facebook (@bestweekever1).

Alumni First Responders Inspire Students to be Leaders at Life on Tap

Alumni First Responders Inspire Students to be Leaders at Life on Tap Mar 4, 2021 All Christendom alumni are called to go out into the culture and “restore all things in Christ.” That mission lends itself naturally to lives of service, where alumni work to help people in times of need. For alumni Bobby Scanlon (’18) and Richard Blank (’18), that desire to serve others led them to careers as first responders, with Scanlon serving as a member of the United States Secret Service and Blank serving as a firefighter and EMT. Both spoke at the first Life on Tap alumni networking series event of 2021, sharing their success stories and encouraging students to be leaders in their communities post-graduation.
