Photo by Dave Rossman As Texas residents slowly venture out to replace their pantries, thousands are being met with empty grocery store shelves, ransacked by desperate shoppers. To that end, Texas grocery chain H-E-B has implemented temporary purchase limits on certain items, including in all Dallas-Fort Worth stores. The San Antonio-based company reports in a February 19 press release that its stores “are in strong supply” and “continue to restock products daily.”

With freeze and power outage behind us, Dallas next hurdle is water This pipe definitely has a problem. As the winter storm thaws, the next hurdle for Dallas-Fort Worth is water supply. Nevermind that many cities in the DFW area are under notice to boil water before using. This is about bursting pipes. Dallas Water Utility told WFFA that, as of February 17, they had responded to more than 1,000 burst pipes. Water inside the pipe freezes, which causes the pipe to burst.
